Group E is the most unpredictable group of all in these qualifications. Excluding Maribor who lost all chances to qualify for the next round in any of two competitions, other three teams are more or less with equal chances to finish on any of the first three places. With only three points between first placed Liverpool and third placed Spartak Moscow, anything can happen and therefore this match, Liverpool vs Spartak Moscow, will be one of the most interesting of all in this round. Both teams have much to lose if they fail to win and lots to gain if they win.
Liverpool gave themselves an early Christmas present with a place in the last sixteen of the Champions League thanks to hat-trick hero Philippe Coutinho.

James Milner, on as a substitute for Spaniard Alberto Moreno who suffered an injury just before the break, superbly crossed for Sadio Mane to crash home a stunning 47th minute volley.
Then he grabbed another assist moments later teeing up Coutinho for his hat-trick. And there was time for the Senegalese to grab another from close range as Daniel Sturridge squared.
Mohamed Salah must have felt left out but he finally joined the party with a simple goal from close range with Liverpool cruising through to the knock out stage as Group E winners.
