City’s squad is valued at 417million euros putting them 19th in European football and seventh in the Premier League.The data has been collected by the Football Observatory, a Swiss-based international centre for sports studies, and values Manchester City’s squad as the most valuable at £1.196billion, ahead of Tottenham at 1.173bn and Barcelona at 1.130bn.The Football Observatory claims to use a scientific method to value players taking into account the type of club likely to be interested in that player.It also analyses data from OptaPro to measure the player’s performance and takes into account the player’s age and length of contract.
With a value estimated at €145 million, Kevin De Bruyne is the most expensive player in City’s team, but in Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, Pep Guardiola has three others at his disposal rated to be worth more than €100m. Overall, the current league leaders’ squad is worth €1.196bn.
