On the 24th November 2016, 18 years after making his professional debut, the football world mourned the retirement of one of England’s greatest, Steven Gerrard.
The 36-year-old has decided to call time on his career after making 710 appearances for his boyhood club Liverpool.
As well as lifting the Champions League in 2005, Gerrard helped Liverpool to win the FA Cup twice, League Cup three times and UEFA Cup in 2001.
As a kid, I always looked up to Gerrard as a professional. His charisma and flair on the pitch surpassed many of his opponents.
He could knock a pin perfect 60-yard pass with his eyes closed. Only a handful of players could spray a ball like he could.
