Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has a £20 million release clause

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy can leave the club for only £20 million, the Daily Mail report. One of the top scorers in the Premier League this season, and the Football Writers’ Player of the Year, Vardy is in demand with some of the best clubs on the continent, including Manchester City.
The 29-year-old knew that he had leverage when he was signing a new contract with the club in February and made sure that there was a release clause for Champions League clubs – although the Foxes will be in the group stage. While Vardy feels at home in Leicester, he realises that time is running out on any dream move he might have.

Vardy isn’t the only key player that Claudio Ranieri might be resigned to starting next season without. N’Golo Kante has already expressed doubt about whether he’ll be with the club next season. His release clause is also, disappointingly, only £20 million. At 25, Kante would go for significantly more than that otherwise.
The club are hoping to renegotiate with the duo, giving improved terms and increasing the release clause fee, with PFA Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez another player that will take convincing to stick around this summer.
