Departing Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola apologised for not winning the Champions League in his farewell speech to the club’s fans after winning a domestic double with the German powerhouse.Guardiola was brought to the club in 2013 in the hope that he could retain the Champions League after Jupp Heynckes won that as part of a treble in his final season at the club. He couldn’t do that and failed to win the trophy in the two seasons after that unsuccessful defense. However, it’s been a pretty fantastic reign.As well as winning three successive Bundesligas, two German Cups and a Club World Cup, Guardiola has broken a number of records thanks to a style of play that has revolutionised Bayern and German football.
