Cristiano Ronaldo came to life in the latter stages of the competition, scoring hat-tricks in the quarter-final and semi-final wins over Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid before netting a superb brace in the 4-1 final triumph over Juventus.Messi has won eight league titles, five Copa del Reys, six Super Cups, four Champions league titles, three UEFA Super Cups and three FIFA Club World Cups in his career – making a whopping 29 club trophies in total.
Of course the 32-year-old Portugal skipper has the Euro 2016 title to his name, whereas 30-year-old Messi is yet to land a major trophy for Argentina, losing the Copa America finals of 2007, 2015 and 2016 – as well as the 2014 World Cup final.
