This will be the fourth meeting between these sides in the League Cup, with Manchester City winning each of the previous three to date (September 1965, September 1967 and December 2013).
The only previous League Cup meeting between these sides in Leicester was at the last-eight stage in 2013-14, with Manchester City winning 3-1 en route to winning the trophy.
The Foxes have not eliminated two Premier League teams in the same League Cup campaign since 1999-00, when they knocked out Leeds in round four and Aston Villa in the semi-finals before winning the final.
