Torino vs Juventus

Italy’s oldest derby, the ‘Derby della Mole’, descends on Turin as Torino and Juventus battle it out for the city’s bragging rights, in a clash that has been dominated by the ‘Old Lady’ in recent years with Juventus winning 17 of the last 20 H2Hs (W17, D2, L1).Unusually, Torino have their away form to thank for their current sixth place spot in Serie A (SA), having won just three of seven home fixtures so far (W3, D1, L3), with the hosts sitting a lowly 15th in the home form table.
Their SA games here have been tight though, with five of the six matches that ended with a winner, being decided by a one-goal margin. The hosts usually provide fans with goalmouth action also, having scored in all but two of their last 15 competitive home fixtures, although in seven of those games they netted just once.

Formidable Juventus’ 43 points is more than any other team at this stage in SA history. The division’s top scorers (32 goals – average of 2.13 per match) have dropped points just once this campaign (W14, D1), and still have their 100% away record intact (W7).
A 2-1 Champions League defeat midweek to Young Boys in Switzerland shows that Juve are not unbeatable on the road, although considering they had already qualified for the knockout stages, this loss should possibly be taken with a pinch of salt.
