Atletico Madrid vs Juventus

Atletico Madrid have secured their spot in the round of 16 for the fifth time in six seasons. They did it by finishing second in Group A with thirteen points from four wins, a draw, and a single loss. After losing to Porto in the knock-out phase in the season of 2008/09 they went on to win the next five. Their record against the Italian opposition in this part of the competition stands at four wins and four losses.

Juventus are coming into knock-out phase after securing the first spot in Group H. After the six matches played, they accumulated twelve points from four wins and two losses. This is Juventus’s tenth UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie (six wins, three losses). The Old Lady has won the prestigious European competition twice, in 1985 and 1996. They are also the holder for the most finals lost, a record number of seven. In recent weeks, their form in away games has been colorful. Out of the previous five games, they have won three, lost one, and drawn one.

Missing players

Atletico Madrid don’t have many missing players for the match against Juve. Lucas Hernández is injured and he will not play against Juventus. Koke is not fully fit and he is doubtful for the match. All other players are fully fit and ready to play.

 Juventus also have almost all players available for the match. Juan Cuadrado is injured and he can’t play in Spain. All other players are ready for the match and they will play aggressive from the first minute.
