Christian Eriksen ‘Will Sign For Real Madrid’ After Champions League Final

Christian Eriksen will sign for Real Madrid after the Champions League final – according to reports from Spain.

The 13-time European champions have been monitoring Eriksen for some quite some time now and it was recently claimed a verbal agreement is in place between club and player.

Now, however, Jaime Astrain from El Chiringuito claims the deal is as good as done. It’s said the fee and personal terms have been agreed, with only an official announcement awaiting.

Eriksen’s mooted move is poised to be confirmed after he plays in the all-English Champions League final against Liverpool, which coincidentally takes place in Madrid on June 1.

Eriksen signed for Spurs in 2013 following a £11 million transfer from Ajax and has since gone on to become one of the best playmakers in the Premier League, with 49 goals and 60 assists in top flight.

However, with just one year on his contract and reports indicating he has no plans to extend, the Dane could be on the verge of calling time on his career in England.

Eriksen, 27, would be a perfect long-term successor to 2018 Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric, who Real Madrid snapped up from Spurs for £30 million back in 2013.

Only the second player after David Beckham to record 10+ assists in four Premier League seasons on the trot, Eriksen would likely command a fee of more than £100 million but it would be a necessary investment for Zinedine Zidane as he looks to rebuild a stale Los Blancos side.
