Wan-Bissaka has signed a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with an option for a further year, and he may well be United’s solution to a troublesome position for seasons to come.

The 21-year-old has taken the No.29 shirt, the same number he wore in his 46 appearances for the Eagles, after rising through the academy and breaking into the team last year.

Wan-Bissaka, who started his career as a striker, emerged as one of the most defensively sound full-backs in the Premier League last season.
