Chelsea vs Sheffield United Match Preview

Chelsea struggled to beat one newly-promoted team last week – and it could be a similar story this time when they host the other club that came up automatically from the Championship.

The Blues gained their first competitive win under manager Frank Lampard with a 3-2 success at Norwich that was certainly deserved, but they made hard work of it and were grateful to Tammy Abraham’s winner as he scored his first two goals for the club.

Everything has not yet slotted into place for Chelsea and as they are averaging two goals conceded per match under Lampard, it is difficult to think they will blow away a team like Sheffield United who are generally reliable defensively.

The Blades have been really competitive in every game since promotion, collecting four points from their first two matches and then being edged out 2-1 at home by Leicester last week in a contest that could have gone either way.
