Liverpool vs Chelsea Match Preview

Chelsea face the daunting task of trying to bounce back quickly from their 4-0 drubbing at Manchester United by trying to lift the UEFA Super Cup only three days later against Liverpool.

The Blues travel to Istanbul as Europa League holders, taking on a Liverpool side who looked just as good as in last term’s Champions League-winning campaign when they began the new Premier League season with a 4-1 victory at home to Norwich.

Liverpool’s fans have a soft spot for Turkey’s biggest city as that is where the club came back from the dead to win the Champions League Final in 2005, albeit that was in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium rather than Besiktas’ ground like this match.
