Chelsea vs Valencia Match Preview

Frank Lampard, who played a big part in Chelsea’s 2012 Champions League triumph, makes his coaching debut in the competition on Tuesday – against a manager with even less senior experience than him!

The ex-England midfielder scored three Champions League goals in the season when Chelsea conquered the continent for the one and only time, including away to Valencia in the group stage.

He is, of course, in only his second managerial campaign after cutting his teeth with Derby last term, and this will be another learning process as the 41-year-old presides over a Group H campaign that also includes home-and-away matches against Lille and last season’s semi-finalists Ajax.
