France vs Albania Match Preview

France cannot afford to take anything for granted in their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign and must leave nothing to chance when they face Albania at the Stade de France on Saturday.

Albania will not be as easy a touch as Andorra are expected to be next up for France, but Saturday’s visitors have also only beaten the two teams below them in the standings so far. Even with their list of absentees, France have a star-studded squad and more than enough quality to pick up all three points.

The situation is far from critical for France at this stage, but after a 2-0 defeat in Turkey they cannot afford to slip up when hosting Albania – who are only three points behind and not completely out of the mix themselves if they can pull off a couple of strong results.

Albania contested Euro 2016 in France and lost 2-0 to Didier Deschamps’ side after a couple of very late goals during the group stage, since when they appear to have regressed.
