FIFA 20 Has Predicted The Winner Of A World XI Vs Icons XI Match

A YouTuber has simulated a game of FIFA 20 to see who would win a match between a World XI and Icon XI.

It is a staple of EA Sports’ franchise to feature rosters that comprise of the current elite and then the greats of yesteryear.

The opportunity of a Vieira vs Kante battle in the midfield or Maldini and Baresi vs Ronaldo & Messi is one too good to pass up, even if it is virtual.

Youtuber Rich Leigh decided to pit a World XI against an Icon XI and uploaded the video for all to see.

The score of the game ended up being 2-1 in favour of the Icon XI.

The World XI took the lead through Cristiano Ronaldo but two goals late in the game from substitute Ruud Gullit and a last gasp winner from Pele snatched the game for the icons.

However, the result of the game is only one side of the debate.

One of the biggest debates is likely in who starts for both sides.

The two elevens are:

Jan Oblak, Jordi Alba, Virgil van Dijk, Sergio Ramos, Joshua Kimmich, Kante, Luka Modric, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lev Yashin, Roberto Carlos, Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Carlos Alberto, Patrick Vieira, Lothar Matthaus, Diego Maradona, Zidane, Pele & Ronaldo Nazario.

Mohamed Salah, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar all find themselves unlucky to be on the bench.

An argument could be made for all three of them to deserve the nod over Eden Hazard.

On the Icon side, the omission of Dutch icons Johan Cruyff and Ruud Gullit stand out.

Ronaldinho is also on the bench which will draw questions from many.

Two Ronaldo’s lead the line for both sides, with Cristiano on the World XI and Ronaldo Nazario on the Icon XI respectively.

Following the result of the game, Rich Leigh decided to simulate a whole season with the two sides to see who comes out on top over 38 games.

The Icon’s won the league by five points and scored 15 more goals than their World XI opposition.

Both sides did lose more games than runners-up Liverpool did last season, while the Icons lost one less than eventual 18/19 Premier League Champions Manchester City.

It all makes for interesting speculation as to what would happen if the game could be played in real life.
