The striker has joined on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £6million.
The Gunners have been tracking the 18-year-old for some time and reports as early as March suggested they had won the race for his signature, while a number of other European clubs were tracking the forward.

Martinelli played for Brazilian club Ituano who are based in Sao Paulo. He made his debut for the club in 2017 at the age of 16.

He went on to score 10 goals in 34 appearances.
The 18-year-old’s performances have attracted attention from the Brazil national squad and he was called up to the full squad for a training camp in May ahead of the Copa America.
