For reasons only she knows, former First Lady Michelle Obama has been on an extended pity tour lately — a nonstop whinefest where she laments her supposedly “terrible” life as a multi-millionaire celebrity. She’s spent months complaining about how unfairly the media treated her, which is laughable considering the press practically worshipped her for eight straight years. The truth is, Michelle Obama isn’t a victim — she’s a bitter, entitled elitist who’s never once been held to the same standard as everyone else.
In one of her latest tirades, Michelle Obama took aim at President Trump’s proposal to personally fund a new White House ballroom — a project that would serve the nation for generations. The horror, right? Like so many Democrats clutching their pearls over any change to the “People’s House,” she conveniently ignores the fact that the East Wing is dated and has been renovated countless times by presidents of both parties.
But Trump, being Trump, didn’t let that nonsense slide. He fired right back, unapologetically and directly — exactly the way his supporters have come to expect and love.
Perhaps the president should continue to force guests to stand in the mud when they’re at a White House event:
“The East Wing is being spent by private donors. It’s a $250, $300 million building. It’s going to be the most beautiful anywhere in the world,” he said Monday.
“They had an event [at the White House] the other day. With tables, they could hold 79 people. Now, if you have President Xi from China, or if you have some big state event, we have no place to have it. You know what they did? …They will put a tent on the lawn. It was a low section because that’s the only section you have… If it rained, you were sitting in six inches of water. It was a disaster.”
The liberal tears are flooding the zone. Here’s a former “Policy Director” from Michelle’s First Lady days:
Cry harder, Krish.
Seriously, what exactly are we supposed to be celebrating here? Did Michelle Obama leave behind some great policy legacy from the East Wing that everyone somehow forgot about? Because I sure don’t recall it. What most Americans do remember is her infamous line: “For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.” Sorry, Michelle — you’re never living that one down.
And that’s really the Obamas’ legacy in a nutshell. Once sold to the country as symbols of unity and optimism, they’ve proven to be anything but. Barack and Michelle have become bitter, entitled, and perpetually aggrieved — the very embodiment of grievance politics. Even some conservatives once hoped Barack might bridge divides. Instead, we got two self-righteous elites who seem more interested in lecturing and dividing than leading and inspiring.
It’s all just…pathetic.
