CNN Poll Shows Democrats Frustrated With Congressional Democrats

When you’re own base turns on you as a political party, that’s not good and it signals years – perhaps decades – in the political hinterlands if your leadership and rank-and-file members refuse to recognize the problems and do a course correct. That is the issue with Democrats now; even their own voters are fed up with them with over half saying congressional Democrats have the wrong priorities, and nearly three-quarters of all voters saying the same.

CNN’s data crunching guru Harry Enten stated that the polling data indicates a need for primary challenges, as Democrats continue to face difficulties in forming a unified strategy for the 2026 midterm elections and 2028 that isn’t solely focused on opposing President Trump.

“These numbers are just atrociously awful. A double A for the Democrats here. I mean, just take a look here. Congressional Dems have the right priorities. Look at this. Overall, 74 percent, nearly three in four say no,” Enten said. “Just 25 percent overall say yes.”

“You might say, okay, well, at least Dems like Democrats. Uh-uh, not the case,” he continued. “Look at this. The majority of Democrats are independents who lean Democrat…Fifty-five percent say no, congressional Democrats do not have the right priorities. And then you just see a minority, 45 percent of Democrats say that congressional Democrats have the right priorities.”

“This to me just jumps out at the screen because it screams primary challenges all over the map,” Enten added.

Democrats have been accused of using Americans as pawns in their conflict with the president, leading to a partial government shutdown that has left federal workers without pay. They continue to push for withholding funding from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and certain parts of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as Congress attempts to pass a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill.

As a result, Americans have experienced long lines at airports, and government workers have gone over 40 days without pay, struggling to support their families. Despite these challenges, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has called the latest funding bill a success.

“This is exactly what we wanted,” he said. “This is what we asked for, and I’m very proud of my caucus. My caucus held the line.”

‘This is exactly what we wanted’ – long lines, throw federal workers to the wolves, endanger lives at airports and in the skies, all during a war. No wonder the flu is more popular than the party of Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries.
