Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem posted a short video on social media Friday informing followers that at least two individuals have been identified allegedly leaking details about Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations to arrest illegal aliens and that they will be turned over to the Justice Department for prosecution.
“We have identified criminal leakers within @DHSgov and are preparing to refer these perpetrators to the @TheJusticeDept for felony prosecutions. These individuals face up to 10 years in federal prison. We will find and root out all leakers. They will face prison time & we will get justice for the American people,” said the post that contained Noem’s short video clip.

Earlier this week, Noem announced that some individuals responsible for leaking information about immigration enforcement operations have been identified and are facing termination. “I have found some leakers,” Noem said. “We are continuing to get more. They will be fired and there will be consequences.” Noem stated that her agency employed “every tactic” to identify the leakers, including polygraph tests and a thorough review of communications such as emails. She emphasized that their actions endangered law enforcement personnel and compromised national security.
While Noem did not disclose the number of individuals involved or the specific agencies they worked for, she previously accused the FBI of leaking plans for large-scale immigration enforcement operations in the Los Angeles area earlier this month. “I have found some leakers. We are continuing to get more. They will be fired. There will be consequences. And, remember, when they leak information to the press in order to blow an op, they are putting law enforcement lives in jeopardy,” Noem said at the time. “They are risking their lives and putting their families in the position where they have to live without those individuals any further.”
“We have used every tactic that we have. If you remember, we talked just last week about how I’m using polygraphs to go after and to really interview these folks because we are a national security agency. I have that tool I can use. Also looking at their emails, looking at their communications,” Noem added.
