Oliver Kahn Played Against Nine-Year-Olds In A Charity Shootout And Saved Every Penalty

Oliver Kahn didn’t achieve his legendary footballing status without establishing himself as a powerhouse for Bayern Munich, even earning himself the nickname of ‘Der Titan.’

The aptly named Titan might have called it time on his professional football career, but that didn’t mean he was going to ease up against any type of opposition in a one-off match, including nine-year-olds in a charity penalty shootout.

Tor!, a book that focuses on the history of German football, claims that Kahn took part in a penalty shootout against a bunch of nine-year-olds for charity.

According to the story, every time that the youngsters scored against the Bayern Munich legend, money would be donated to charity.

Unfortunately for the nine-year-olds, the 49-year-old German shot-stopper had no intention of allowing himself to be beaten and ended up saving every single shot fired his way in the shootout.

Despite Kahn’s perfectionist attitude, the German is considered one of the best ‘keepers in history and he admitted that he couldn’t be more happy with what he accomplished in his career.

“I couldn’t have asked for any more over the years,” he told the Bundesliga website.

“I just feel grateful my body held out for so long, and I was able to celebrate so many great successes at a club like Bayern. There were so many emotional highlights but also some emotional lows.
