Luis Suarez: ‘I cried when Barcelona told me they still wanted me despite the bite’

The Uruguayan admitted he broke down and cried when he found out the club still wanted him after he was vilified for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup.The Catalan side went ahead to sign him despite the fact that he received a four-month suspension.
“I did cross my mind that it could end my dream of joining Barcelona, that I could lose everything. In the days before I was kicked out of the World Cup, I spoke to Zubizarreta and the president. They told me that they still wanted me and I don’t have any problem in saying that I cried because they still wanted me.

“After what happened it was difficult to have confidence in me. Barcelona were fantastic with me over this and I will always be grateful.
