Law and order is making a comeback—and so is President Donald Trump. With Trump back in the White House, the country is already seeing a return to accountability, stability, and basic expectations of behavior, both at home and on the world stage.
The contrast is striking. During the Christmas season, the United States is on pace for what could be a record one-year decline in murders under Trump’s leadership—a development most Americans would welcome, even if parts of the liberal media seem determined to spin it as somehow problematic:
The United States is on track for the largest one-year drop in murders ever recorded, according to crime analyst Jeff Asher.
Asher cited year-over-year data from the Real Time Crime index, which shows the murder rate has decreased nationally by nearly 20 percent from 2024 to 2025.
There was a 13.1 percent decrease in murders from 2023 to 2024, according to the index, which uses a collection of monthly data from agencies nationwide to report on crime trends.
The drop in fatalities follows the COVID-19 pandemic and prepandemic levels, showing an increased effort to combat violence through local leadership across the country.
Baltimore, another city on the list, saw a 30.9 percent drop in murders from 2024 to 2025.
Atlanta saw a 26.2 percent decrease in murder, while Birmingham, Ala., recorded the highest drop at 49 percent, Asher reported.
The turnaround underscores how quickly leadership matters. A change at the top has brought renewed confidence to law enforcement, clearer consequences for criminal behavior, and a signal that chaos is no longer tolerated. It is a reminder that elections have consequences—and that effective governance can produce measurable results in short order.
Mind you, those Democrats not somehow trying to find a way to spin this into a bad thing will ultimately try to take credit for the drops. I can hear them now: ‘Our criminal reform strategies are working.’ Uh, no they’re not – rigid enforcement of the laws and, likely, Trump’s surge of federal agents and the National Guard into lawless regions of the country run by Democrats is obviously having an impact.
‘Making nice’ with criminals doesn’t work, has never worked, and will never work. If anything, we need to bring back the ‘three strikes’ laws, which were also highly successful.
