It’s always a good day when left-wing, America-hating commies get what’s coming to them, legally speaking, so it is with great joy that I write this today.
You’ve likely heard of the Democrats’ new “it boy,” Hasan Piker, a man of privilege and wealth who harps on about communism and actively sympathizes with terrorists.
Then there’s “Medea” Benjamin, whose real first name is Susan. She’s a co-founder of the radical left group CODE PINK, a group made up entirely of anti-American idiots who love to cozy up to hostile regimes.
Now they’ve both been subpoenaed by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control to see if they violated U.S. sanctions laws by trying to help the communist regime of Cuba:
Piker and Benjamin are among those caught in a federal inquiry into whether activists who traveled to Cuba in March violated U.S. sanctions laws through the financing, coordination or delivery of goods to Cuba, including potential contacts with Cuban government personnel or entities on the island.
The administrative subpoenas were sent to the pair by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.
The administrative subpoenas — called “Requests for Information,” or RFI — seek financial, logistical and communications information revolving around trips the two widely bragged about making to the island nation in March with delegations of the “Nuestra América Convoy,” or “Our America Convoy,” from a global network of communist sympathizers, activists and influencers who brought supplies to the country’s ruling Communist Party of Cuba, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The radical pair practically sprinted into the arms of America’s adversaries the moment the United States cut off Cuba’s oil and slammed them with crushing sanctions and embargoes.
Instead of standing with their own country, they chose to side with hostile regimes furious over losing access to American dollars and influence.
And as if that wasn’t enough, they dragged along the child of yet another longtime anti-American activist:
Piker and others, including Rep. Ilhan Omar’s daughter Isra Hirsi, traveled to Cuba in March in support of the regime amid sanctions and embargoes from the United States against the communist power. The move was part of an international outcry by leftist activists following the United States indictment and ouster of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
Since the indictment was unsealed Wednesday, a number of far-left activist organizations — including CODEPINK — have reportedly intensified fundraising and lobbying efforts defending the Cuban regime, a government critics say has driven Cuba into decades of economic collapse, repression, and poverty.
To many Americans, the spectacle of helping the commie regime there is mind-boggling.
But that comes from never having to live under such a horrible political system. You notice Piker and Benjamin never advocate for moving to Cuba or a place like it, do you?
That said, I would love to see some justice meted out here. It’s one thing to use your free speech rights to hate on America. But it’s quite another to actually help our enemies.
