Arsenal reach £30m agreement on Granit Xhaka deal, medical arranged for this weekend

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Borussia Monchengladbach for the transfer of Granit Xhaka, David Ornstein of the BBC has reported. The Gunners have agreed to pay the Bundesliga club 30m pounds for the Swiss international, and a deal is all set to be struck, subject to a medical, which will be carried out at London Colney tomorrow.

The Kosovo-born Swiss international travelled to London this morning, and has been at London Colney all afternoon to thrash out the deal.Arsenal’s interest in the midfielder is well documented, and has been constantly reported over the past few months.

With the likes of Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta all leaving the club this summer, Wenger is badly in need of fresh midfield reinforcements, and Xhaka looks to fit the bill.Wenger proved with the signing of Elneny that he still has an eye for a midfielder, and Gooners will be hoping that Xhaka can also prove a long-term success.
