The media’s obsession with her whereabouts is revealing in a way they don’t intend. They can’t quite process a First Lady who simply doesn’t perform for them on demand. Who doesn’t need their validation. Who steps into public view when she has something to accomplish and steps back out when she doesn’t. The concept of a prominent woman who isn’t seeking constant media attention seems to baffle an entire industry built around it.
